Vancouver, BC, Canada

Kar is a new artist living on Commercial Drive in East Vancouver, BC. She started drawing with ink pen in June 2018, however was sketching since she first picked up a pencil.

Although it was very easy to start drawing lollipops and rainbows, she always had a strong interest in surrealism, the dead and suffering, and expressing beauty with a non-conventional eye.

The purpose of her art is not to be aesthetically pleasing but for her audience to feel, empathize or re-live a familiar time of pain. Because frankly, stories of complacency have yet to inspire her.

Music is also a very important factor in Kar's art and life. She's appreciated classic and alternative rock since she was about 10 years old. Other genres that she enjoys are jazz, oldies, funk, indie, basically variations from all generations. As a kid she attempted  learning guitar twice and drums once with no success. Maybe she will try again one day(?)

Kar currently works as a registered veterinary technician, enjoys live music, cheap beer and really bad dad jokes.

Her personal heroes include Frida Kahlo, John Lennon, Immanuel Kant, Rupi Kaur, her dad, and any dog.
